On the morning of December 21, 2023, the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) organized the seminar “Quality Control Workshop in Printing” and Founding Ceremony of the Alumni Business Club. The event took place at the meeting Room 2 of the university.

The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – Acting President of HCMUTE and the leaders from the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media including Dr. Nguyen Long Giang – Dean of the faculty, MSc. Le Cong Danh - Vice Dean, MSc. Nguyen Thanh Phuong - Vice Dean, along with esteemed faculty members leading various divisions at the university. Additionally, the program saw the participation of professors, students from the faculty and over 100 businesses.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang expressed sincere gratitude to the businesses and alumni of the faculty for their support. He acknowledged their collaboration in sponsoring scholarships, providing advanced equipment to enhance the quality of education, and fostering human resources. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang also highlighted that HCMUTE was now a fully autonomous university, emphasizing the university's interest and expectations regarding the establishment of the Alumni Business Club for the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media, aiming to broaden the network of connections with businesses.

Throughout its 36-year history, the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media has consistently improved the quality of education, effectively meeting the learning environment needs and sharing specialized knowledge with students in the printing industry. The development of the faculty in recent years is attributed to support from the university administration, along with the collaboration of numerous businesses, sponsors, and alumni. During the ceremony, the faculty expressed gratitude to 23 sponsors, over 100 businesses, and 8 alumni who have cooperated with the faculty.

In recognition of students' academic achievements and continuous efforts, the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Media awarded scholarships to three outstanding students for the academic year 2023-2024.

At the seminar, reporters presented four fundamental topics: (1) Quality control of paper and ink, (2) Quality control of offset printing plates, (3) Quality control in printing, and (4) Introduction of the Idealliance training and certification program on process and print quality control. Attendees, including businesses and alumni, learned about the use of materials, checked the quality of printing plates, and set strict requirements to ensure standardized printing quality.

Furthermore, with the aim of fostering exchange of knowledge and experiences in the field of printing, as well as improving the quality of training to meet the needs of businesses, the Faculty of Printing and Communication established the Alumni Business Club. This presents a significant opportunity for the business community and the faculty to connect and contribute to the continuous growth of the printing industry.
