In the afternoon of 24 December 2015, Hochiminh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) held a meeting with 25 students of the Taekwondo team who attended the Fifth National Student Sports Tournament and the musical team who attended the 2015 Southern National Student Singing Contest.

Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen - Vice President - spoke at the ceremony: "HCMUTE is always interested and invest in sports, culture and art activities. These activities contribute to training students’ soft skills, promoting health and fitness which are beneficial to learning. The achievements in national tournaments are unforgettable memory in student life. HCMUTE congratulate the two teams and some members on their achievements in the tournaments."  


The Taekwondo team achieved impressive records when first attending the national  tournament in BacNinh (from 7 to 11 November, 2015), including one gold medal, four silver medals and seven bronze medals. The team consists of 7 members who have had six to ten year training. This team has joined the HCMUTE Taekwondo club for about two years. Especially, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hieu won a gold medal in Individual Men 48kg as an amateur athlete.



On 12 December 2015, the musical team with 18 members took part in the14th National Student Singing Contest in the Southern region and won five bronze medals. All the performances had been meticulously prepared with the beat, musical instruments and background music. Students  are acknowledged to have won lots of high prizes in this contest.
