Organized by the Office of International Relations – International Education Exchange Center (IEEC), a Lecture on Innovative Teaching and Learning for the 21st century took place in Meeting Room II of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education on February 22, 2017.
The event was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Le Hieu Giang - Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, faculty deans and lecturers, officers and more than 80 students. The lecture also warmly welcomed the speech of Assoc. Prof. Ramlee Mustapha from Malaysia – the main speaker.
Opening the presentation, Dr. Le Hieu Giang emphasized that the key issue of university education in 2107 is to gain financial autonomy under the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training. Therefore, there should be ways to improve the teaching and learning quality to meet the actual needs of ever-changing society. Also, he advocated the lecturers being ready to change their vision and mindset, enhancing capacity and capability in order to achieve better results in teaching.
In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Ramlee Mustapha brought new vision of creativity in teaching and learning in order to improve the quality of education in the 21st century. There are more and more novel applications of science and technology, thereby calling for innovative changes in teaching and learning to achieve higher knowledge. The key point of the conference was finding more creative and dynamic methods of transferring knowledge aimed at empowering students to think critically and learn actively, which is to promote the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning as well as to advance and develop learning environment.
