On February 15th, HCMC University of Technology and Education held the groundbreaking ceremony and started the construction of F1 Building. This multi-purpose building is designed for modern classrooms and laboratories.

The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Dung – University president; boards of Design, Construction and Supervision of the building; heads of offices, faculties and centers.
On October 30th, 2015, the project was approved by the Ministry of Education and Training under decision No. 1960B/QD-BGDDT. The scale of the 8-floor construction project includes classrooms, laboratories. The gross total area is 8560 square meters including ancillary equipment such as power plants, underground water tank, and septic tank. The total investment is 106,188,102,000 VND in which the State budget invested 63,747,000,000 VND, the rest is from a legitimate source of revenue of the university.
HCMUTE, established in 1962, is aiming to become one of the leading university in the field of engineering and technology in Vietnam. This new construction would advance the facilities and transform the university into a modern training center, a scientific research hub. When the construction is complete, F1 intelligent building, applied with IoT technology, will surely be an ideal place for study and research, especially for Faculty of Vehicle and Energy Engineering, Faculty of Chemical and Food technology, Applied Sciences. This is also one of the key projects to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the founding of the university (5/10 /1962 - 5/10/2017).
