1. BACKGROUND
1962: Home Economics Department
September 4th, 1985: Home Economics Department became the Faculty of Women’s Work
1992: The Faculty of Women’s Work added the Garment Technology major
2001: The Faculty added the Fashion Design major
2004: The Faculty added the Food Technology major
March 22nd, 2004: The Faculty of Women’s Work was renamed Faculty of Garment Technology and Food Processing
March 2006: The Food Technology major merged with the Chemical Department of the Fundamental Sciences Faculty to establish the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology
February 28th, 2007 to now: The Faculty was renamed Faculty of Garment Technology and Fashion Design
