FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCES

1. BACKGROUND
- Faculty of Applied Sciences established from the Department of Fundamental Sciences
- Later became Division of Fundamental Sciences with four departments: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Foreign Languages.
- As of 1987, two more departments were added: Marxism-Leninism Department and Department of PE and Sports
- In 1988 the Division of Fundamental Sciences became the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences, and in 2017 it was renamed Faculty of Applied Sciences, comprising three departments: Mathematics, Physics, Wand Material Technology

Vision
- Becoming one of the strong faculties with lecturers of high competence, professional skill, and solid teaching;
- Offering high quality training, research, and conducting technology transfer;
- Becoming a reputable training and research unit with extensive relations with many other Vietnamese and international units and organizations.
Mission
- Being a unit for advanced training, research, and technology transfer;
- Teaching fundamental sciences to students majoring in natural sciences, technology and engineering in UTE;
- Training high quality work force for the industries of material technology, radiation technology and engineering, technical physics, and applied mathematics to meet the demand and move ahead of the socio-economic development;
- Assisting the national industrialization and modernization; active and proactive in international integration.

- Developing our academic staff into a highly-qualified and united team
- Constantly developming teaching methods and assessment in accordance with the learning outcomes..
- Opening majors for training technology engineers with advanced teaching program in the approach to CDIO.
- Increasing research, raising the quantity and quality of research projects every year.
- Fastering collaborative relations in training and research with domestic and international experts, colleagues, science and education units and organizations.
