HCMUTE has always endeavored to develop knowledge and technology benefiting the community by carrying out research and development activities as well as providing consulting services. To facilitate these missions, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and Training, HCMUTE has established the Institute for Research and Development of Professional Education and Centers for Technology Research and Transfer in several fields.



From 2012 to 2013, distinctive research groups were founded to focus on HCMUTE strategic research plan:

Automatic Systems in Automotive Engineering and Technology
Group of Advanced Computations in Engineering Science (GACES)
Intelligent Systems
Mechanical and Environmental Engineering
Mechanics of Energy Equipment and Industry
Renewable energy
Robotics and Automation
Waste Treatment Technology

Most of the groups have been doing well with their research trends and achieved several significant results. GACES can be considered as the leading group for completing of up to 7 SCI papers, 40 conference papers, 35 seminars, achieving a 1.6 billion VND budget within only one school year 2012 - 2013.
