Basing the list of 09 courses agreed and finalized to be the kernel courses of the Smart Energy System Master level training program, on 21-25 May 2018, HCMUTE nominated Prof. Nguyen Minh Tam and Prof. Phan Duc Hung for a training trip on curriculum and syllabus design which was conducted in RTU (Latvia).
During the training, the 2 HCMUTE participants worked with other partners from P1/RTU, P7/ KSPEU, P8/NEFU and P10/ HUMG to figure out how to develop a course syllabus with careful notice on every item from contents that should be taught in each course to words/phrases expressing the course intended Learning Outcomes (iLOs), which would later become the assessment objectives. Five academic courses were discussed on for development roadmap in relation with standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area and European qualification framework EQF; comparing national credit point system to European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), as well as Correspondence of learning outcomes to Bloom’s taxonomy.
Besides, a public event was scheduled for the first half of the third day in which academic staff and PhD students of RTU participated. Participants also visited National Library of Latvia, as well as practically worked with Catalogue of RTU Scientific Library to expand the list of recommended or required reading; worked with UseScience system that has been developed to catalogue, record and locate laboratory equipment, ICT and specialist tools.
