On the morning of October 20, 2024, the final round of the Ho Chi Minh City AI Challenge officially took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), concluding an exciting journey of competition among the best teams. The event was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications, in collaboration with leading educational and research institutions such as Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Science and Technology, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, and various other reputable organizations.

This year’s competition further solidified its status as one of the premier platforms for artificial intelligence in Vietnam, attracting over 3,000 participants from more than 100 universities, high schools, and research institutes. The scale of this year’s event not only surpassed previous years in quantity but also enhanced its quality, featuring top experts from both domestic and international backgrounds serving as judges and advisors.

A Transformational Journey: Expanding Scale and Establishing Status

The AI Challenge has undergone an impressive evolution since its inception in 2020. Initially targeting students in Ho Chi Minh City, the competition aimed to create a local platform for artificial intelligence. However, in just a few years, it has rapidly expanded in scale, driven by the enthusiasm of the youth and the growing demand in the field of artificial intelligence.

In 2023, the AI Challenge attracted over 2,700 contestants, marking a significant milestone as the competition began to spread widely across the country, engaging numerous leading universities in Vietnam. By 2024, the event continued to grow, featuring more than 3,000 participants from over 100 educational and research institutions, including universities, research institutes, high schools, and numerous technology organizations.
