On the afternoon of August 13, 2025, at Meeting Room 1 – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), the signing ceremony of a Cooperation Agreement between HCMUTE and GELEX Group Joint Stock Company took place. The event marked the official establishment of a strategic and sustainable partnership between the university and the enterprise, opening up opportunities for comprehensive collaboration in training, research, technology development, as well as supporting students in gaining access to a professional working environment.
Representing GELEX Group at the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Trong Trung – Deputy General Director; Ms. Mai Thi Minh Thu – Human Resources Director; Ms.Nguyen Thi Thuong – Head of Training & Development; and representatives from its subsidiary, Vietnam Electric Cable Corporation (CADIVI). From HCMUTE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Vice President – attended together with leaders of the Office of Enterprises Relation, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Vehicle and Energy Engineering, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer.
The cooperation focuses on practical areas such as: organizing company visits and workplace experience programs; internship opportunities and joint training programs; career fairs and career orientation talk shows; scholarship sponsorship; and activities in research & development (R&D) and technology innovation. These initiatives aim to improve training quality, bridge theory with practice, and contribute to developing high-quality human resources for the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh – Vice President of HCMUTE – expressed his honor in cooperating with GELEX, one of Vietnam’s leading multi-industry investment groups. He emphasized the vital role of enterprises in accompanying universities to provide students with exposure to modern technologies, professional skills, and innovative thinking. This collaboration not only marks the beginning of a strategic relationship between the two parties but also builds a foundation for future generations of highly skilled engineers capable of meeting labor market demands.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Trung – Deputy General Director of GELEX Group – affirmed the Group’s goal of becoming a leading industrial conglomerate in the region, contributing to a safe and sustainable society. He highlighted that many of GELEX’s key leaders are HCMUTE alumni, and thus this cooperation is not only about recruitment but also about joining hands with the university in education and training, nurturing talented engineers and future leaders.

This cooperation agreement is of special significance as it establishes a strong bridge between academia and industry. HCMUTE students will not only acquire knowledge in classrooms but also gain practical exposure to real business and production challenges. In return, enterprises will benefit from fresh ideas and highly applicable research outcomes from faculty and students. This is a win-win partnership, enhancing education quality and innovation capacity while contributing to building a high-quality workforce to meet the sustainable development needs of society.
The signing ceremony between HCMUTE and GELEX Group not only laid the foundation for a close and sustainable relationship between the university and enterprise but also reaffirmed their shared commitment to training high-quality human resources, promoting innovation, and making practical contributions to community, society, and national economic development.
