With the aim of enhancing cooperation in education and scientific research, on the morning of April 25, 2025, Tongmyong University (South Korea) paid a visit to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE).

 

This visit not only demonstrated the strong bond between the two institutions in expanding international collaboration, but also served as an opportunity for in-depth discussions on development strategies, sharing of experiences in education, scientific research, and the internationalization of education. It was also a chance to strengthen and renew existing joint training programs while opening new avenues for future collaboration.

 

Representing HCMUTE at the meeting were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Dinh Nhon – Dean of the Faculty of International Education, Mr. Pham Bach Duong – Head of the Office of International Affairs, and Mr. Nguyen Thoi – Deputy Head of the Office of International Affairs.

 

From Tongmyong University, the delegation included Mr. Kyung Su (Greg) Kang - Chairman, Mr. Yohan An - Dean of International Affairs, and Mr. Dennis Kim - Marketing Manager - Office of International Affairs.

HCMUTE and Tongmyong University have maintained a longstanding cooperative relationship. In 2018, the two universities launched a 2+2 credit transfer joint undergraduate training program (2 years in Vietnam and 2 years in South Korea) in fields such as Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, and Automotive Engineering Technology.

 

During the meeting, HCMUTE presented an overview of the university, its training programs, and its development orientation. The two sides discussed potential cooperation in building joint programs in business-related fields, implementing joint research projects, organizing academic conferences, faculty and student exchange, and conducting short-term courses or cultural exchange activities to enhance the training quality of both institutions.

This meeting was not only a chance to exchange information but also an opportunity to strengthen the sustainable and long-term partnership between the two universities. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain communication and develop detailed plans for upcoming collaborative projects. This cooperation promises to bring significant benefits to students and faculty of both institutions and contribute to the advancement of education in both Vietnam and South Korea.


Tongmyong University is a prestigious private university located in the port city of Busan, South Korea. Established in 1996, the university has quickly established its position within the Korean education system, particularly in the fields of information technology, port and logistics, design, architecture, and business.
