In order to enhance cooperation and development opportunities between the university and vocational educational institutions and promote strengths in the fields of activities of each party, on the afternoon of October 13, 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed for the period of 2022-2025 between Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) and the People's Committee of Long An province.
From HCMUTE, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – Vice rector in charge of the school; leaders of related units including the Institute of Technical Education, Science Technology and International Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office, Non-official Academic Affairs Office, Admissions and Student Affairs Office. Representatives from Long An Provincial People's Committee included Mr. Pham Tan Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of relevant departments, agencies, localities and units.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Tan Hoa - Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee thanked the companion, interest, and cooperation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education in human resource training in recent years. According to Mr. Hoa, Long An province urgently needed training on additional teachers for vocational schools in the province and college-level training for the province in order to meet the demand for quality labors. Therein, college training activities should be carried out at provincial vocational schools to create favorable conditions for students. In addition, he affirmed that the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the People's Committee of Long An province and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education is an important and meaningful event to create conditions for the province to promote the educational potential available with the active support from the school.
On this occasion, Assoc. Dr. Le Hieu Giang – Vice Rector in charge of the school expressed concern about the shortage of human resources in Long An province. The school affirms that it will make efforts to cooperate with the province in training human resources and meeting the current labor market needs of the province. Accordingly, the school is ready to open joint training classes from intermediate to university level, from college to university, or for high school graduates to attend university at the school. At the same time, the school side also participates in training for master's degrees for managers, training for teachers for schools, etc. For high schools, the school wishes to cooperate with the education sector in consulting. Career guidance for students, transfer of highly applicable scientific research topics, building a STEM club at high schools, etc.
Also at the ceremony, the representative of Long An Provincial People's Committee discussed 2 main cooperation contents including Cooperation in the field of high-quality human resource training and Cooperation in the field of scientific research and project development. The comprehensive cooperation is expected to create conditions for the two units to coordinate and support training at intermediate and college levels in fields and industries in Long An province that are in need of human resources; Inter-university training from Intermediate, College to University for students in Long An province; Coordinate and support high schools in the province in career guidance, development of STEM clubs, in organizing Science and Technology creative competitions,...; Associate in university training in fields that Long An province needs, especially classes located at Long An College.
The signing ceremony was an important milestone opening a strategic cooperation phase in inter-related activities, linking and training quality human resources. high quality, scientific research cooperation, technology transfer, ... create conditions to promote human resources in Long An province associated with the mission of industrialization - modernization of the country.
