On the afternoon of January 6, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), in collaboration with the Saigon Center for Educational Quality Assurance (CEQA), officially launched the accreditation survey for eight academic programs. These include six master's degree programs and two undergraduate programs.

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent representatives from the External Evaluation Team and the Saigon CEQA, including: Dr. Duong Mong Ha, Director of Saigon CEQA and Secretary of the Evaluation Team.
Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam, Former Director of the University of Danang and Head of the Evaluation Team, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hanh Nga, Deputy Director of Saigon CEQA, along with other evaluation experts from leading universities in Vietnam, such as the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), Saigon University, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), and Ho Chi Minh City Banking University.

Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam, Head of the Evaluation Team, noted: "In my many years of conducting accreditation, I have never seen an institution with such a large number of programs evaluated in a single round. This is a remarkable achievement, reflecting HCMUTE’s exceptional management and quality standards."
He also commended HCMUTE’s proactive approach in selecting diverse accreditation centers, showcasing its commitment to benchmarking and continuous improvement.

Representing HCMUTE, Dr. Quach Thanh Hai, Vice President, thanked the leadership of Saigon CEQA and the External Evaluation Team for undertaking this important task. He emphasized: "With the educational philosophy of 'Humanity – Innovation – Integration,' HCMUTE has always been a pioneer in advancing educational quality assurance and accreditation. To date, the university has achieved significant milestones, with 18 programs certified under AUN-QA standards and 17 meeting national standards. This round of accreditation marks a critical step in reviewing our graduate education system, aiming to enhance quality comprehensively, contribute to scientific research, and increase international publications."Dr. Hai added: "Although our graduate programs currently serve about 500 students out of a total enrollment of over 30,000, they have made significant contributions, with more than 1,600 Scopus-indexed publications in the past five years. HCMUTE is ranked 9th among universities in Vietnam and has achieved a ranking of #421-430 in the 2025 QS Asia University Rankings."

Accreditation Survey Details
The External Evaluation Team will conduct a series of activities, including document reviews, interviews with university leaders, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and employers, as well as meetings with relevant departments, faculties, and the university’s Self-Evaluation Council.
The survey will take place from January 6 to January 10, 2025, focusing on the quality of eight programs: Master’s Programs: Food Technology, Computer Science, Automation and Control Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Teaching Methodology, and Economic Management. Undergraduate Programs: Computer Engineering Technology and English Language. This accreditation survey reflects HCMUTE’s unwavering commitment to educational excellence and continuous improvement, aligning with its mission to contribute significantly to scientific research and workforce development.
