Hochiminh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) lauched a Exam Season Supporting Campaign in late June 2014 to help candidates who applied to the university. Eagerness and enthusiasm filled in the air. Optimism could be seen on faces of HCMUTE student volunteers.
This year, the campaign involved 12 units from clubs and youth unions of faculties and centers of HCMUTE. It took place at 6 places (i.e. Campus 2 of HCMUTE, College of Construction Number 2, College of Industry and Trade, Technical and Technological Vocational College, Tam Phu High School, and Tang Nhon Phu B High School) and was expected to welcome more than 17,000 candidates.
From the beginning of June, members of soft-skill clubs and social work teams started many fundraising activities, such as collecting scraps, waste papers and plastic drinking bottles from the university dorm and buildings in the campus, setting up donation boxes, and selling key chains and handmade products. These activities showed HCMUTE students’ sympathetic attitude towards candidates and their parents.

Due to some changes in admission regulations, surging number of student volunteers, and higher work requirements this year, the volunteer recruitment was more challenging in order to guarantee the best service of the campaign. After the interview round, 900 out of 4,000 students enrolling in the campaign were recruited. Up to now, all preparations have been made, and volunters are ready for the Exam Season Supporting Campaign. Mr. Giang Phi Hung – Deputy Head of the Campaign – happily said, “The preparations have been completed early, and all units are active in volunter recruitment processes as well as fundraising activities. The Exam Season Supporting Campaign is meaningful for not only candidates but also students. Through participating in the Campaign and helping candidates and their parents, students can improve their soft skills”.
