To celebrate the 46th anniversary of Southern Liberation for National Reunification (30/4/1975 – 30/4/2021), Youth Vanguard in HCMUTE held a trip to Independence Palace for students. In a joyful atmosphere, HCMUTE students had an opportunity to observe historical artifacts and enjoyed unforgettable memories.

HCMUTE held a field trip to Independence Palace to celebrate the 46th anniversary of Southern Liberation for National Reunification.

Independence Palace is situated at 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. On the early morning of April 27, students gathered and were ready for a trip “back to history.”

Students are silently waiting in line when coming to Independence Palace.

Independence Palace was recognized by Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism as a National Cultural and Historical Relic on June 25 of 1976. On August 12 of 2009, Prime Minister of Vietnam ranked Independence Palace as the first 10 special national sites of our country.

During the trip, students were free to take pictures with the interior of the President's residence and office. Under the guides’ instructions and interpretation, HCMUTE students had deeper understandings of artifacts. Detailed guidelines in both English and Vietnamese provided concise and comprehensive information of the historical contexts at that time. Name plates for rooms and aisle signs could help tourists fully experience Vietnamese history without worry about getting lost in Independence Palace.

The trip to Independence Palace on April 27 of 2021 left HCMUTE students memorable experiences and valuable information of the place which had been witnessing Vietnamese history and has been a special historical symbol. Moreover, the trip was expected to evoke each student’s national pride, so they will strive to develop our great country.
